Prior to enrollment in any college or university preparation program to renew the internship credential, appropriate personnel in the employing school district shall counsel with the intern and a total program for the first and subsequent renewals shall be planned. The county superintendent of schools shall be involved in the program planning in the case of joint recommendations.
