In addition to providing the Legislature with quarterly enrollment and completion reports, the University of California and its partners in administering professional development institutes under this article shall annually contract for an independent evaluation of the professional development institutes authorized by Sections 406, 99220, 99221, 99222, 99224, and 99225. The results of this evaluation shall be reported, in writing, to the Legislature no later than January 1, 2002, and annually thereafter.
