§ 1765.4

Any natural person applying for a license to act as a surplus line broker shall prove his or her competency by showing he or she holds an existing license to act as a property broker-agent and casualty broker-agent, which requires passing the qualifying examination for that insurance broker’s license. Any natural person who is not a resident of California may prove his or her competency by showing that he or she holds an existing license for property and casualty in his or her resident state.
