and who refuses or fails to furnish correctly any information in his or her possession that is required by this part, or furnishes false information with intent to defraud affecting a death certificate or record required by this part, is guilty of a misdemeanor that shall be punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, by a fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000), or by both that imprisonment and fine.
