Added by Stats. 1999, Ch. 934, Sec. 2. Effective January 1, 2000.

On or before March 1, 2000, the State Department of Social Services shall convene a workgroup to review current criminal background check requirements and processes for screening care providers. The workgroup shall study and make recommendations concerning improving the coordination of the different populations who are required to undergo multiple criminal background checks, methods to reduce the costs, and expedite the process of conducting criminal background checks. The workgroup shall include representatives from the various departments within the California

Health and Human Services Agency, the Department of Justice, the Child Care Resource and Referral Network, and care provider organizations.
